3RD GRADE Ms. Lee Hello! My name is Mrs. Lee, and I teach third-grade at Barton Hill in the Magnet Program. I love third grade and all the exploring, learning, and fun we get to have together! I have earned my B.A. in Liberal Studies from Cal State, Northridge, and I have 16 years of business background with a Masters Cert. in Executive Management from UCLA, Anderson School of Business. I have a Master's degree in Teaching from Biola University, and I love to teach all subjects, especially math and science! I can't wait to help your child explore different subjects that will help them grow as exceptional scholars! I am married with three children, ages 27, 24, and 15! Ms. Strong Hello everyone! My name is Mrs. Strong and I fell into teaching many moons ago (over 20 years!) when I moved to Los Angeles from the Central Coast and I have fallen in love with my profession year after year. I look forward to your children learning as much from me as I do from them! A little bit about me is I am a huge sports fan: Angels, LAFC, UCLA are my local teams but I am most excited for World Cup 2022! On the weekends, you’ll find me most likely at a local beach with my family.

5TH GRADE Ms. Arrata My name is Ursula Arrata and I have been teaching at Barton Hill Elementary for the last 20 years! Barton Hil is my second home...I love my coworkers, students & families very much! I've taught 5th Grade for about 8 years and love teaching the curriculum and exploring the different subjects. I was born and raised in Texas by a family who put a great emphasis on education. My mother was a 1st grade teacher, my aunt was my 7th grade Math teacher, my cousin was my high school Geometry teacher, and my uncle was my high school Principal! So needless to say, teaching is in my DNA! I live nearby in Torrance. I'm married with 3 kids: twin 16 year old boys who are high school juniors, and an 18 year old daughter who is a freshman in college. I'm also a dog mom to Ziggy and a cat mom to Olive. When I'm not working, I'm usually down by the beach riding my bike, or traveling around the world with my family. I'm looking forward to our new school year and getting to know all my students & families, and of course, having fun & productive year! Ms. Castellanos
Mr. Fernandez - Magnet Program 3RD-5TH GRADEMs. Blumetti Hello! My name is Ms. Blumetti and I am the Upper SDC 3rd-5th grade teacher. This is my 15th year with the district and 7th year teaching. I grew up in Torrance, CA, and recently moved to Long Beach. A little bit about me is that I love my family, football, baseball, being active, and trying new things. I take kickboxing classes, jog at the beach, and recently started learning how to play pickleball. A fun fact about me is that I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 7 years old! Teaching has always been my passion because I enjoy watching my students learn and grow.
